In this fantasy science fiction setting, a wealthy philanthropist funds an expedition to exhume an ancient alien holy site on a massive gas giant planet in the Lulcia solar system. The philanthropist has hired an honored archeologist and a few of her more promising students. In order to protect this team of scholars, a mercenary crew has been hired helmed by Commander Jayne Archer, the decorated leader of the Sagittarius merc crew. The mercenaries were given a large sum of money to be split amongst Archer’s crew of 5 mercs. Navigating this treacherous and seldom explored planet, is a voyager crew led by Captain Raynold, a well established adventurer and ship captain.
The age of exploration has hit the bi-solar system. Eight years ago in the fallout of a failed rebellion, access to Voyager vessels had been made commercial. Anyone with enough iris could reverse the system and planet hop. This privilege was formerly only available to those of high standing and government affiliation. Now, in the dawn of a new era people everywhere are venturing beyond the borders of their own atmospheres. The Alciel empire rules over all bodies that orbit the Alciel sun. Locked in a galactic helix, is the free system of Lulcia where each individual planet is governed by their own system of ruling. The Alciel System favors order and structure while the planets within the Lulcia system embrace chaos and whimsy. These twin suns orbit one another in a delicate dance, their planets arching past within a moons throw. The synchronized turning of every celestial body in perfect balance, so as to prevent catastrophic collision. 15 years ago an uprising took place in the Alciel system. The rebellion gained traction and was nearly victorious over the empire. But five years later, the rebellion was squashed. The empire was left weakened from its five year civil war. 10 years later, it reaffirmed its place as the oppressive militaristic force that it was once known to be. It now seeks to spread it’s reaches into the Lulcia system, taking planet by planet. But travel between planets can take months to years for a voyage to come to it’s restful end. The planets within the Lulcia system are forced to unite and take a stand together or be crushed separately. Can such Shaky alliances stand against the oppressive might of Alciel’s Galactic navy?
